What family number are you?

I have been keeping my ear to the ground and have received a suggestion to add "Family Number" to the user database. Fortunately the CMS we are using allows us to create custom fields that suit this feature.

The Family Number illustrates how porteous family groups are distributed throughout the globe.

Family Location Guide
(Family no. issue based on 1st contact or family concentration)

Scotland 1 - 399 New Zealand 1400 - 1499
England/Wales 400 - 799 Europe 1700 - 1599
Ireland 1200 - 899 India/Pakistan 1600 - 1699
Canada 900 - 1209 South/Central America 1700 - 1749
U.S.A. 1100 - 1299 Africa 1770 - 1799
Australia 1300 -1399 Middle East 11200 - 1849

Note: The above table was extracted from the Porteous Associates website at Yahoo Geocities.

So if you have already registered and you know your family number please consider updating your registration details to help us group family members.

I have been researching since 1985, my first contact with the Porteous Associates - Australia - was in Feb 1986, the work achieved by that association has been invaluable to myself and other researchers. It's great that Russell has offered this site for the continuing benefit of Porteous family research and family connections. Well done Russ.
