Southbank, Melbourne, Australia

I am currently staying at a hotel here at Southbank in Melbourne (My home city) while I am on a business trip. It feels funny staying in a hotel, when your own home is only 30 minutes away.

The hotel is situated on the Yarra River and is in the heart of the city arts & entertainment precinct that includes Crown Casino, State Theatre, Arts Centre and Hamer Hall.

Over the last 20 years, the southern bank of the Yarra river has come alive giving us a new perspective on Melbourne.

In years gone by, this part of Melbourne was unsavoury, dirty and neglected. The view of the city across the river provides for a great place to take photographs, particularly of the evening sky as the sun sets in the west.
